ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic has made one of the tourists in the East Lampung regency inactive, namely "Gua Pandan.” Due to its unique location geologically, efforts must be made to revive the area. One of the approaches is applying an indirect method, namely the geophysical method. One of them is the geoelectrical profiling method. Six lines are spread in the study area with a length of 70-105 m. The target is a cave filled with air because it is suitable as a tourist spot. Based on the measurement results, a very high resistivity value of more than 5,000 Ωm is suspected to be an air-filled cave. The cave area that is probably safe is about 120 m long with 1-3 m depth below the ground surface, 2-8 m width, and 2-6 m height. However, a safety assessment is necessary for feasibility so that the cave is worthy of being re-activated as a tourist spot.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) is a syndrome of fatal multisystem inflammation. This case report aims to describe our successful experience in managing children with MIS-C associated with previous SARS-CoV-2 infection and to help clinicians identify the spectrum of MIS-C signs and symptoms. METHOD(S): Case Reports RESULTS: A 6-year-old previously healthy boy was referred to our hospital with fever, dyspnea, vomiting, and abdominal pain for seven days before admission. Leucocytosis, elevated inflammatory and cardiac biomarkers were noted. Renal and liver function decreased. An echocardiogram showed dilated LV with EF 30% and a normal chest x-ray. High anti-SARSCoV- 2 titer (>250 U/mL) with negative for SARS-CoV-2 RTPCR was in accordance with the previous infection 8 weeks prior. He received intravenous furosemide, dobutamine, ceftriaxone, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), and heparin in the pediatric intensive care unit and was discharged on the 11th day of treatment. The second case was a 10-yearold boy admitted to the hospital with a high fever (41.5O C), conjunctival hyperemia, diarrhea, and diffused abdominal pain for two days before hospitalization. History of COVID-19 was noted in the previous 4 weeks. Laboratory blood examination showed thrombocytopenia, elevated inflammatory markers, D-dimer, NT-pro BNP, negative for SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR, and positive for IgG SARS-CoV2. Echocardiogram and chest x-ray were unremarkable. He received ceftriaxone, IVIG, Methylprednisolone, and enoxaparin. The patient was discharged after eight days of hospitalization. CONCLUSION(S): These two cases presented MIS-C following a history of mild COVID-19 infection. The successful management relied on the proper and timely administration of IVIG, corticosteroid, and anticoagulant.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Every postpartum mother is recommended to breastfeed her baby because breast milk is the main need of newborns. The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on life in various aspects, including on the breastfeeding mothers, especially if they suffer from COVID-19 infection. Aim: The study aims to provide comprehensive evidence regarding potential virus transmission and antibody transfer through breastmilk and the experiences of mothers related to breastfeeding during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. The search strategy involved the use of keywords related to COVID-19 and breastfeeding in PubMed and Science Direct databases. Articles were selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Breastfeeding has been recommended to be continued during the pandemic due to the benefits associated with it and the absence of sufficient evidence for transmission of COVID-19 infection through breast milk. During the lockdown period, there was a change in breastfeeding patterns, although most mothers believed that breastfeeding should be continued. Anxiety and lack of support affected breastfeeding practices. Breastfeeding mothers reported a dilemmatic situation. They felt protected because of the lockdown policy but also struggled to get support from their social environment. The impact varied in terms of stopping breastfeeding practice altogether, breastfeeding irregularly, and even giving formula milk. Conclusion: Adherence to health protocols can reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 infection through breastfeeding from mother to baby. Support from the family and the environment is needed to ensure the continuity of breastfeeding practice. © 2022 Kurniawati et al.

ABSTRACT

Efforts to deal with several risks have been regulated by law, which certain programs should be initiated by the organization especially for the prevention and control of patient care in the context of hospital management system. The availability of service facilities and medical equipment is important in handling Covid-19 patients as many drawbacks have been found due to new circumstances that many do not predict before, such as the allocation room and time management for separating the patients within treatment. Indeed, the shortcomings in managing the process often related to the utilization of technology infrastructure in containing patients' data and the medicine effectively. It is better to identify the issues resides in the hospital before coming up with the solution. Thus, this study want to assess the maturity level of the Information System using the Healthcare Information System Maturity Model (HISMM) as the framework. In the detail, to increase the flexibility of the environment for the sake of study, the investigation was conducted focusing on several attributes as a reference by analysing six dimensions that were relevant namely Data Analysis, Strategy, People, Electronic Medical Records, Information Security, and IT Infrastructure System. The results of this study indicated that State Hospital Jakarta has reached the maturity level at position 4 (four), which is equal to democratic cooperation. The recommendations given in this study are in the form of a roadmap that contains several steps in respected attributes that can support hospitals to reach the next level of maturity in the future. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic is of special concern in all parts of the world, including Indonesia. The number of active cases also continues to increase in most provinces in Indonesia, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This condition requires health workers to collaborate well in suppressing and handling COVID-19 patients. AIM: The aims of this study were to find out how collaboration occurs between health workers in handling COVID-19. This study identifies opportunities and challenges for Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) health workers at the Primary Health Center of Bantul Regency. METHODS: The design of this study was a cross-sectional study. We used the purposive sampling method to recruit participants. This study was followed by 200 participants who were health workers at the Primary Health Center in Bantul Regency. We used a questionnaire as the instrument. The questionnaire consists of four dimensions of IPC such as knowledge, collaboration, service, and the role of a pharmacist. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Chi-square and Spearman. RESULTS: The result showed that IPC health worker at Health Primary Center of Bantul was categorized as good (45%). However, IPC at the Health Primary Center is still not optimal. There were top three obstacles in collaborating, namely, lack of time, perception of complicated bureaucracy, and lack of trust from health workers about their knowledge and skill.Based on spearman test p-value for age, gender, education level, years of service, occupation were 0.764;0,732;0.808;0.189;0.582;0.746. This result showed that the sociodemographic characteristics of the participants did not significantly affect the IPC (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The main key in practicing IPC was building a good work team, good communication and relationship, responsibility for each other’s, keep learning from each other and being critical, and maintaining the ethics of each profession. Thus, effective and efficient collaboration will be established.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: In patients with coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), respiratory failure is a serious condition that requires immediate respiratory supports. Various clinical conditions can be determinant factors to the need for used of ventilators. AIM: The aim of the study was to determine factor related to the used of ventilators among COVID-19 patients transferred to intensive care unit Sardjito Hospital. METHODS: Using a cross-sectional design, a total of 171 of 300 medical records selected in accordance to the inclusion criteria. Association of each clinical characteristics and outcome variable used contingency coefficient and Spearman rank tests, while multivariate logistic regression model was performed for hypothesis testing. The area under curve (AUC) was test to determine model fit of the logistic approach. RESULTS: There was a significant correlation between age (p = 0.004), blood sugar levels (p < 0.001), and oxygen saturation (p < 0.001), and the used of ventilator. Patients with hypoxia and severe hypoxia had odds of using ventilation supports 5 times and 114 times (OR = 5.623) and (OR = 114.3). The AUC test indicated that null hypothesis was rejected. CONCLUSION: The clinical characteristics were associated with age, blood sugar levels, and oxygen saturation. Patients with COVID-19 who admitted to hospital with hypoxia and severe hypoxia increased the odds of the use ventilators.

ABSTRACT

The elderly is the most vulnerable population group during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Unfortunately, the vaccination uptake against COVID-19 among the seniors was considered low. This research aimed to point out the most significant factor as the recommendation for government to develop strategy in increasing COVID-19 participation among elderly. The variables are the health belief model, trust in health authorities and media, the experience regarding COVID-19, the general vaccination behaviour, and the novel contribution is the addition of the health protocol compliance as the determining factors of COVID-19 vaccination uptake action among the elderly in Indonesia. The online survey using a structured questionnaire obtained 213 respondents aged ≥55 years old. Structured equation modelling was employed to test the model. The result showed that the health belief model (β=0.296), trust in media and authorities (β=0.524), and general vaccination behaviour (β=0.319) significantly affect health protocol compliance. The health belief model (β=0.699), trust in media authorities (β=0.933), and health protocol compliance (β=0.406) significantly affected the COVID-19 vaccination uptake behaviour. This result gives the implication that the government should focus on improving the trust in media and authorities among the elderly. This action would improve the knowledge of COVID-19 and increase the vaccination coverage among the elderly. © 2022, Intelektual Pustaka Media Utama. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

This research examines the form of implementing the local wisdom ideology of Tri Hita Karana in preventing and overcoming the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Bali. The central government through its policies has dealt with this epidemic both at the central and regional levels including in Bali. Apart from the policies issued by the central government in order to prevent and cope with this outbreak in Bali itself there is a local ideology (local wisdom) whose implementation is in line with government policy. This local ideology is known as Tri Hita Karana. The problem raised in this study is how to implement the ideology of local wisdom in preventing and overcoming COVID-19 in Bali. The purpose of this research is to understand that one of the implementations of local wisdom in Bali is useful in preventing and overcoming COVID-19. The method used is the empirical method data collection techniques with interviews questionnaires and literature. The theory used is structural functional theory social change theory is supported by the concept of local wisdom. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of local wisdom in Bali can effectively and efficiently prevent and cope with COVID-19. An interesting finding of this article is precisely when local wisdom is Tri Hita Karana implemented on a daily basis to deal with COVID-19 the order changes. From the beginning the standard was Prahyangan Pawongan and Palemahan however in this implementation it changed become Pawongan Palemahan then Prahyangan.

ABSTRACT

In 2020 the coastal community in Demak-Indonesia faced two alarming events of their lives, the COVID-19 Pandemic and tidal flooding (Rob) events with a frequency and duration longer than usual. It is well-accepted worldwide that tidal flooding is one of the consequences of climate change caused by sea level rises. This paper will focus on the impact of a double whammy;climate change and COVID-19 Pandemic are in the coastal community. To analyze and describe the research question, we use the media analysis method of 21 Indonesian news articles from March to September 2020. Data from the media analysis using Discourse Network Analyzer (DNA) and open interview to describe the latest coastal community’s condition, including the socio-economic impact and response to the double whammy. The results show that this year’s tidal floods are the worst, seen from the duration, and the altitude is getting bigger than previous years. The tidal floods coupled with the economic impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic, which made them economically locked down. Strengthening the resilience of the fisherman community in Demak is essential. It needs government policy support that considers ocean sustainability to improve their welfare and enhance preparedness in facing a double whammy in the future.

ABSTRACT

A fraudulent financial statement is an issue that continues to be discussed as a form of deviation from corporate governance. Covid-19 pandemic has also demanded managements to uphold the company’s performance to have good public image. Thus, the present study sets out to scrutinize the fraud pentagon theory on fraudulent financial statements. Each element is not able to be tested directly. However, there are proxies. The pressure element is providing as a personal financial need. The opportunity is becoming the industry’s nature. Each of the quality of the external auditors as well as the turnover of board directors proposes rationalization and competence. The quantity of CEO’s appearance in photos is a proxy of arrogance. The testing was carried out on the registered pharmaceutical companies of the Indonesian stock exchange in the span of the 2015-2019 periods. The samples were selected by the means of sampling technique which is purposive. Data are scrutinized by the means of panel data regression. The analysis results show that the characteristic of the industry positively affects financial reports which are fraudulent. Changing top management positions such as directors can be an indication of financial reports which are fraudulent. The personal financial need variables, the caliber of external auditors and the quantity of CEO’s appearance in photos poses no effects on the fraudulent financial statements of the Indonesian’s pharmaceutical companies. © 2021

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic situation is still ongoing in many countries in the world, including Indonesia. The positive case continues to increase every day and impacts our life, including the fisheries’ family. The fishery is a vulnerable sector to climate change, and this day worsened by a pandemic situation. This paper aims to understand the resources attached to fishing families facing various pressures and risks, forms of response, and adaptation within the fishing families. During COVID-19 pandemic situation, we have to carried out an online ethnographic approach by online-focused group discussion (FGD) to fisherman group and fisherman wives. Purworejo village was selected as a research site because it is the one with the largest number of small-scale fishing families in Java’s northern coastal area. The results show that various pressures and risks faced by fishery families, not only related to climate change and COVID-19 such as fishing season, limited resources, capital, and access, but also a risk on their internal family. In the context of fishery family resilience, each family member has a role in dealing with stressors, especially economic stressors. Fathers look for fish in the sea almost eight hours a day;children also go to sea when economic conditions continue to deteriorate;even a fisherman’s wife has the same responsibilities as her husband.
